#jetsjetsjets I was introduced to the NFL through 90s Buffalo Bills games being broadcasted in Montreal. I adopted the New York Jets once our family arrived in Brooklyn. We were inseperable for over a decade of heartache.
Only die-hard fans remember Bruce Coslett and Ken O’Brien, Richie Kotite and Browning Nagle, the washed-up Vinny Testeverde, Boomer Esiason, and Steve O’Donnell. Mark Sanchez beating Peyton Manning in Indianapolis was not a franchise highlight. After years of disappointment, I gambled my allegiance over a Jets vs. Giants pre-season game and lost my fanhood to that final New York team. The G-Men won me my first Super Bowl that very season.
Then Geno Smith’s legitimacy slid so far in the draft it only took him a single season to ascend, Rex Ryan’s reloaded defense reloaded, and I had to call my bandwagon advisor for an exception. The struggle is real and so are my J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!
